Well, I have decided to start a blog, basically to get my mom off my back. Apparently I am not writing in my diary enough for her liking. Writing in a diary sounds nice, but it is sooo boring. I am like pumped up for a week or two, and then its like, really, I have much better things to do than write about my day. Like eat, sleep, Facebook, read Cosmo, and drool over Mike Posner music videos, obviously. So the next best thing, I suppose, would be to write in a blog.
Lately, I have been volunteering at Lambano Sanctuary in South Africa. My life these days revolves around 40 children. I do school runs, help with homework, get groceries, and basically just spend time with the kids.
Since I have arrived in South Africa, the main topic of most of my conversations with the kids has been whether or not I have a boyfriend. Apparently since I am eighteen, I must have a boyfriend. So for the last three months the kids have been trying to find me a boyfriend so I will marry a South African and stay here forever.
There was one incident where one of the vehicles broke down about a block away from our house. I got out with the boys to push it. About halfway home, a man stops and asks if we want help. I said yes, obviously. Well leave it to one of the boys to promptly ask, "Auntie Devyn, is he cute for you?". I didn't even have to turn my head to know that the man had heard, I could hear him burst out laughing. The rest of the way home was very awkward after that. The kids are very good at embarrassing me!
This past week, the kids in primary school had their concerts at school. They did such a nice job! I was so proud of them! It was fun to see the actual concert after watching them practice for the past few months.
The kids were so excited all week. It was very difficult to try to do homework with them! All they cared about was singing, dancing and dressing up for the concert. A few of the kids are still wearing parts of their costumes!

That is the only real exciting news for this week. Here goes my first post!!! (:
